Privacy
Plain English. Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Retreat Shortlist is a directory of Australian corporate offsite venues. This notice says what personal information we collect, why, and how to ask for access or a correction.
What we collect
If you claim a listing or write to us, we receive the details you send: your name, work email, phone if you give one, your role, and the message. Payments are taken by Stripe. We do not store card numbers. Stripe receives the billing details needed to run the subscription.
Why
We use that information to reply, to correct or remove a listing, and to match an optional paid listing plan (see For venues) to the right venue. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which venues planners find useful, and to show venues how their listing performs, we count a small set of actions: viewing a venue page, opening a claim page, and clicking a venue's email, phone or website link. Each record holds the action, the venue, the page path, the referring website (domain only), any campaign tags in the link, and the time.
To tell repeat visits apart we set two first-party cookies that contain random codes:rs_vid(kept for up to 12 months) andrs_sid(expires after 30 minutes of inactivity). They are not linked to your name, email or account, are not shared with advertisers, and are not used to track you on other websites. We do not store your IP address or browser details with these records. Your IP address is used briefly to limit automated traffic and is not saved. Blocking cookies does not stop the site from working.
We may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without collecting personal information.
Listings
Venue pages are compiled from publicly available information: names, places, capacity bands and public contact details. They are a starting point, not a quote. A venue can ask us to edit or remove a listing. Write to claims@retreatshortlist.com.au or use the contact form.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@retreatshortlist.com.au. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
